Here we see *viridianphoenix's Razor on holiday, visiting Neio's little village and wondering where the laboratory is. There are several reasons why I wanted to draw this:
a.) First of all, I lovelovelove Razor. She's one of the most fascinating characters I've seen on dA.
b.) I also love the contrast between the two characters. Here's this super-intelligent scientist, and here's this...well, dragon hick :B She lives in a SHACK, for pete's sake!
c.) I've been meaning to draw Neio's home for a while now. The dragons (there's anywhere between 10 and 40 in a village) live in little huts on stilts. This is because the valley floods often, and while they probably could stop it they need the water to grow a certain kind of grass they harvest. They would live in trees but it's too windy.
d.) I need to practice coloring large areas, obviously. Anyone have any tips for markering large spaces?
e.) This is my first 100% full-color background. Unfortunatly, it looks like a cross between something from the Zelda universe and that "Madagascar" movie
f.) Take a look at Neio's wings. I have finally come to the conclusion that the backs are the same color as her body. The insides are the same blue as always, but they just seem more durable this way. Also, I've realised that her feathers are more fluffy and silky than spiky, as I have been drawing them. Unfortunately here, I shaded them weird so they look like macaroni and cheese :/
g.) Her horns are also their proper shape here. I need to redo her ref.
Anyways, enjoy! I may have to take some other people's characters on little tours, this was too fun And V- I hope I didn't make razor too chunky

jfjlkfdsjfkls Wow, I didn't expect this. XD I'm amazed you like her that much. But she'd totally stroll around the country side looking for different people to hang with and study their environment. Though I wouldn't say she's super-intelligent. But she doesn't look chunky at all and LOOK HOW TINY SHE IS! XD Hee.
Markering large areas. You have to take it all in one go and color along your leading edge. Don't go fast as much as take your time and keep the area wet. And use the fat end of the marker. Copics have that, right? It just lays down more ink so you can work more carefully. Oh, and plan it out ahead of time.

sixteen feathers, lie them in a row; don't just spend them, see where they go...
That's because she's more inspired from ~neogeen's neck of the woods. XD
Yeah, the chisel end. At least in Prismas, that end just lays down more ink so I can work slower and still stay ahead of the dry rate. It helps to have both caps off too, so you can switch if you need to detail something really fast. And make sure your marker can last through the section you need to color. D: They've died on me halfway through so many times. ;_;

I lub the drawing, you did a very nice job with both characters. Makes me wonder if I should have DC in my drawing :/

By fat end, do you mean the wedge-shaped bit? Copics have a brush tip and a chisel end.
I'm glad you like it! I like your character because she's not another Shinerai clone. She's so origional.
